WOOD GUARD India`s First Oil Based Wood Preservative
Is a concentrated wood preservative oil ready to use any where on any type of wood... Plywood, Plyboard, Teak, Sissoo, Deodar, Rosewood, Champ etc... It is dark brown to see but transparent liquid oil with sp gr. 0.910 and has a typical phenolic smell.
It contains Cresole, Carbolic acid, Nepthalene. T. D. Derivatives, Hydrocarbons and other low density oils...
It is backed by a decade strong research history on the life cycles of wood insects & pesticide action. It stops infections like White ants, Silver fish, Wood borers etc. It decreases absorption of water and humidity thus keeping wood damproof & dry for a long time & adding extra years to its life. An extract from the Test Report by Institute of Wood Science and Technology Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education Bangalore - 560 003
Sample of “WOOD GUARD” solution was tested for its efficacy as wood preservative on test sticks of rubber wood, after treating them in accordance with the direction given by the manufacture`s leaflet.
Treated wood showed resistance to Termites (Odontotermessps.) during the testing period of six months while, untreated wood was completely destroyed.
Simple sock treatment of the WOOD GUARD solution showed 10% loss of wood in the case of treated wood, while untreated wood registered a loss of 40-60% to two wood totters (viz. Coriolis versicolor L.ex. FRI 165, Polybours hirsutus ex. Fr. FRI 715 while rot : Polyporus melia undrew FRI 836 and Polyporus palustris B. Ex. C, FRI 528 brown rot).
Grueling Tests Gallantly with Stood by WOOD GUARD
WOOD GUARD Preservative was tested for ( its efficacy against termites as per I.S.4833-1968 “Method for the field-testing of preservatives in wood species”
Rubber wood test panels size 3.81 x 3.81 x 30.5 cms were in stalled in “Test yard” in treated and untreated conditions. In case of treated panels two sets of specimens were brush coated with WOOD GUARD solution, in single and double coating as given in the leaf let.
All the untreated wooden panels were destroyed within 2 ½ months. Where as both single coated and double coated rubber wood panels are completely sound even after 6 months and likely to be so for many more months.
